Hi there. My name is Kelly, and welcome to my blog! I have had many ups and downs on my road to personal fitness, and I’d love to share the things I’ve picked up along the way. Join me for the journey!
The Themes:
- Racing: I have been running off and on since high school (only recreationally). In college I discovered distance running and found a real passion. I trained for my first marathon my sophomore year of school and have completed 3 full marathons. After graduating I moved to Costa Rica and had my ankle in a cast due to a spill I took while running. I took a couple years off and in 2011 decided to get back at something that had once brought me so much joy. Well – shocker: it was hard! I mean really hard. It didn’t come naturally to me. My asthma that had always been under control previously was now relentless, and I just plain didn’t enjoy it like I used to. I trained for a few races, and though it became somewhat better, I never felt like I got back to where I used to be: physically, health-wise, and breathing. Recently though, my running has been improving, and I’m starting to enjoy it again. I will be sure to share the highs and the lows of my running journey.
- Reps: P90X has recently re-entered my life, and I’m thoroughly enjoying the benefits of strength training. Look for posts as I move from a sole focus on cardio to a more balanced fitness program.
- Ramblings: Just for spice I’ll be sharing things like travels, personal stories, nutrition, recipes, good reads, and interesting articles.
The Players:
- Kelly: That’s me! Mid-twenties, full-time employee, lover of music, traveling, cultures, and my family.
- Adam: The partner in crime. He is my editor and shares my interests of fitness and overall health.
